I was lucky enough to pick this up for $30 and honestly I'm shocked it was that cheap. Also, despite every item being alphabetized together across all three games, every single entry is color-coded, so DS1 is red, DS2 is blue and DS3 is yellow. One of my favorite little details is that the pages dedicated to the enemies and bosses of each game ALSO give you the page number of whatever items have lore for that enemy/boss in their descriptions. Most of the information like map layouts or bosses does overlap, but if you were looking for the location of an item in the original version, this may be important to keep in mind. As far as I can tell, there is no portion that is only for the original version. It should be noted that the version of Dark Souls II that is documented in the book is the Scholar of the First Sin edition, with updated item locations, enemy placements, and the handful of new item descriptions. The earlier portions of the book like overhead maps with item/NPC locations are relatively harmless but it doesn't separate spoiler-y content from normal content when it comes to enemies, bosses, items, etc. Of course despite how great this book is, it's not something I would recommend to someone who hasn't already played through all three games, as it is technically a guide and IMO that sort of defeats the purpose of a first playthrough.

Anyone needing guides on progressing questlines, Covenants, and Achievements.Anyone looking to learn about the lore through the item descriptions, dialogue and really well-researched (and cited) synopses for all three games.Players looking to do item cleanup before they go into the next NG+ cycle (including gestures!).Super thick and the printing on the pages is absolutely perfect.

It's almost 600 pages with a really nice quality hard cover AND equally high-quality hard sleeve, plus it came with a page marker ribbon and four cardstock prints in an envelope. So this is sort of a mini-review!įirst off, the book is HEAVY. The product itself is easily worth 5 stars, though. Obviously lots of people out of the loop review-bombed the book on Amazon and it currently sits at around 2 1/2 stars solely due to the delays and lack of communication. This was because in the US, the customs process of going through and approving of the book was taking a LONG time and FuturePress hadn't heard anything for almost 2 months after sending the books to be verified. I swear to Gwyn this isn't an ad lmaoįor those unaware, the book got delayed by quite a bit (I was supposed to have received it from Amazon mid-April, which changed silently to early May, then mid-June, then it was postponed indefinitely until about a week ago). Hello! I can post a few pictures later, but for now I just wanted to reassure anyone who was worried about its quality or even its legitimacy when it was announced earlier this year.
